Despite the snow I headed out for a ride from Edinburgh out to Carnwath to Penicuik back to Edinburgh on my fixed wheel commuting and general all purpose bike, no gears simple, I luv the thing despite it weighing a ton.

Mavic Open Pros DT plain gauge spokes on a On-One flip flop hub to the rear and a SON Dynamo hub to the front. Conti Super Sport 700x23c
ITM stem, Aheadset and ITM bars.
Campag Chorus Chainset which looks a bit weird on a fixee but it was going spare in my box of bits. 42x16 which I think equates to a 68-69 inch gear with which I can get up pretty much anything ok well I'm not sure I would make it up Tala but I would give it a go :)
oh and finally a Blackburn rack with top bag that has optional small panniers built in.
